Welcome to this journey. Let us walk together.
I have always loved movement. How movement can make you feel, invigorated, sweaty, tired – alive. But it wasn’t until later in life after university and becoming ‘an adult’ that I was first introduced to yoga. I decided to try a hot yoga class with the intent to sweat and stretch, and I was hooked. What began as an infatuation with the physical postures and movements has evolved into a much deeper appreciation which include the subtler aspects of yoga. Yoga has since become a constant companion and trusted partner in my life.
I finally took the plunge and nervously signed up for my first teacher training in 2018 after years of questioning if I should. It just felt right. I graduated in June 2019 from Yoga Santosha in Calgary, Alberta after completing my 200H Yoga Alliance certified teacher training with a studio that is like my second home and where I had been practicing for years. It was undoubtedly one of the best decisions of my life.
I continue to the journey of expanding my understanding of yoga through formal training and personal exploration and practice, and am currently completing a second 200H YA certified training with the Myofascial Yoga Institute of Canada, along with various 50H modules from the 300H training to further my knowledge, specifically around the principles of biotensegrity and the fascial network. There are so many avenues of education and experience I would love (and hope) to explore, but I’ll spare you all the details here. It’s more fun to chat about in person on a walk with a hot drink or a bubble tea!
After nearly a decade working in a corporate and legal environment that was not serving my heart, I decided to leave the industry (mid-pandemic, no less) and pursue sharing yoga in the hopes that others might also discover and enjoy the varied subtle but potent benefits of yoga.
I would love to get to know you and support you in your exploration of yoga, on or off the mat! Pixels on screens never do our stories justice. Feel free to connect if you have any questions or would like to chat (or let me pet your dog). I look forward to meeting you!
